About Us
Our past began in 1984.
We started as a vintage furniture collectible business-focusing on the 30's
to 60's-and we quickly recognized the rapidly growing demand for retro furniture.
It became obvious as our business grew, that vintage diner furniture in usable
condition had long ago become a scarcity. We realized, too that the diner look
was transcending passing trends and becoming an American classic.
So, we found a way to offer that same look-and that warm, memorable feeling-along
with the long-term advantages of new, commercial quality retro furniture (such
as replacement pads, & glides, or additional matching chairs a few years down
the road).
We have enjoyed filling in some missing pieces as well. We found that nostalgia
tends to come with very specific images and textures-for example, that certain
fondly remembered warm kitchen, favorite soda fountain or hangout. And, those
memories frequently include a common denominator: matching Cracked Ice patterned
tables & seating,a combination that Pastense is making available for the first
time in 40 years. It all came together when we partnered with our factory to have
the Cracked Ice retro surfacing made. They have stood the test of time, and now
we stand with them; so that you can bring diner quality furniture into your home
or business. We have been delighted that the residential market, warmed by the
ever-growing affection for nostalgia, has embraced Pastense as the first to make
this classic retro furniture available to the public.
Purists please note: Pastense retro furniture is not reproduction furniture.
It’s the real thing.
Pastense furniture is a durable investment that makes you smile. It is made
to order, to your exact specifications. And, there is no better quality retro
furniture anywhere, with no better customer service. Test our competitors with
some of those obscure questions about this furniture, and see who can reassure
you that they know their stuff. Go ahead. Ask them who, in their booth department,
is the one whose work you want in your booth, and why it's worth waiting for.
This furniture is going to be around for your grandchildren to get tired of....
or maybe they'll get excited over it, just like you did.
Now, after waiting for all these years... you CAN go home again!
